Kal-Haven Trail Campgrounds Are Open The Goddess Grove & Eagle Point Camp Sites are now available for rent. The Goddess Grove site is a rustic campground (water & a toilet on site) that has four campsites (one of which is barrier free) and two picnic areas. The Eagle Point site is a semi-primitive campground (toilet on site) that has two campsites. Pricing Persons occupying a campsite must have a valid annual or a day pass for each day they will be on the trail. The camper must also purchase a campsite permit for $15.00 a night. Reservations All campsites are available to the general public on a first come, first served basis with the payment of a non-refundable deposit equal to the price of the Camp Permit fee and Trail Permit fee for the requested day(s). These fees must be paid in advance at the time of the reservation. Advance reservations must be made through the trail office in Lawrence. Day of use reservations must be made prior to occupancy of the campsite. Campers must contact the staff at the trailhead or the Lawrence office to obtain a camping permit, and a trail pass Permits in Barrier-Free Campsites Barrier-Free campsites will be assigned to any qualified person on a first come, first served basis. Only an individual with mobility impairments can use a dedicated barrier-free campsite. The individual must present a “Handicap Parking Permit” to the trail staff issued by the Michigan Secretary of State (or a comparable state office for non-Michigan residents). The Staff may also allow the use of a barrier-free campsite if the impairment is readily apparent or if medical documentation of the individual’s mobility impairment is provided.
